Carol Rose, executive director of the ACLU of Massachusetts, issued the following statement in response to the United States Supreme Court announcement declining to hear Department of Homeland Security v. Regents of University of California:
“The Trump administration upended the lives of hundreds of thousands of young people and their families and disrupted workplaces and communities by ending the DACA program. In Massachusetts alone, more than 7,900 Dreamers call our Commonwealth home and use their DACA status to give back to our communities in innumerable ways. While we are pleased that the Supreme Court chose not to end the program today, Massachusetts has a lot to lose if DACA is not restored to its full status. We must continue to step up the fight on behalf of Dreamers, and all others who have made this country their home.”
