Carol Rose, executive director of the ACLU of Massachusetts, tonight released the following statement in response to President Trump’s address:

"Tonight’s speech reminds all Massachusetts residents who believe in civil liberties and due process of the need to keep up our fight against the excesses of the Trump administration. There is a humanitarian challenge at the border, but it is one of the Trump administration’s own making. That’s why the ACLU of Massachusetts will continue its work - the work we’ve done for nearly 100 years, and the work we remain committed to in 2019 and beyond - to protect and defend the rights of all.”
