“The war on drugs is being conducted in BearCats.”

That’s what Kade Crockford, our Technology for Liberty project director, told WBUR’s Radio Boston in a discussion of the use of SWAT teams and other military-style tactics. John Fisher, Carlisle Chief of Police and president of the executive board of the Northeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (NEMLEC)—which recently settled a lawsuit brought by the ACLU of Massachusetts and agreed that its records are subject to the state public records law—joined as well.
