The Technology Advisory Group (TAG) is an initiative by the ACLU of Massachusetts to encourage the Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM) innovators in the Greater Boston area and all around the state to get involved with projects that further enhance the public advocacy initiatives of the ACLU of Massachusetts. Our goal is to harness technology in service of liberty and build projects that can make a difference.

CryptoParties

The ACLU of Massachusetts will regularly host CryptoParties starting in 2018! A CryptoParty is a free public event where technologists well versed in privacy and security practices share their knowledge so that everyone may be safe and secure when managing their digital lives. The idea is that you can bring your digital devices and learn about the basics of practical security and why it’s important. If you have expertise or knowledge about digital security, you can pass it on.

People of all ages and backgrounds are encouraged to attend. You don’t need extensive knowledge or experience — the sharing of knowledge is the whole point!
