Join us in Randolph to learn how to lobby your state lawmakers and help us pass ACLU Freedom Agenda in 2018, which includes criminal justice reform, immigrants’ rights, and voting rights.

You’ll learn:

  • Who your state legislator is what kind of power they have
  • How a bill becomes a law in Massachusetts and where we are in the legislative calendar
  • What ACLU bills are most important right now
  • How to set up a lobbying visit with your legislator and report your results back to the ACLU office

In Massachusetts, we are halfway through a two-year legislative session, which means we only have until July to ensure our legislators hear from us. After attending a training, you will be armed with the information and skills you need to visit your legislators and make a real difference.

All lobby trainings are free and open to the public.RSVP Here.

State and local law enforcement agencies around the country have been adopting high tech surveillance tools – like drones, biometric fingerprint readers, and facial recognition tools – in increasingly high numbers. But communities around the country (including many in Massachusetts!) are fighting back.

Attend our meeting on police surveillance on Wednesday, May 2nd to learn about community control over police surveillance, and how you can take action to help us pass an ordinance in Worcester. The ACLU model ordinance requires accountability, transparency, and meaningful community input about whether the city can purchase surveillance technology and how it is used.

We are ready to advance this ordinance in Worcester, but we need your help! Please join us to learn how together, we can improve police accountability and transparency.

This event is free and open to the public. Parking is available on both sides of King Street.
