Bena Apreala, a lifelong Massachusetts resident, was jogging in West Roxbury yesterday when men in unmarked vehicles approached and stopped him. An official with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has reportedly confirmed that the men were ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations officers.

Rahsaan Hall, Director of the Racial Justice Program at the ACLU of Massachusetts, today released the following statement:
“This incident raises serious constitutional questions and is disturbing on a human level. The ACLU is representing Bena Apreala, and we are investigating the incident.”
