This November 8 voters in Hampshire County will be able to vote for the position of sheriff — an opportunity that happens only every six years.
The Hampshire County sheriff has a very important job — to oversee county jails, where hundreds of people are incarcerated every year, and return to their communities in no more than 2.5 years. The decisions that the sheriff makes every day about conditions and programming have a huge impact on people in custody and the community beyond the jail walls.
Learn about the candidates and remember to vote on or before November 8! Early voting runs from October 22 to November 4.
Register to vote here by October 29.
In Hampshire county, there were three candidates on the Democratic primary ballot. Each responded to our questionnaire. Patrick Cahillane won that primary and will be on the November ballot. At least one other candidate who did not win in the primary may be running a write-in campaign.
