Eurie Stamps Sr. was shot and killed by a Framingham police officer during a raid on his home in January 2011. Our discussion will focus on his story, along with other cases of people killed by police in Massachusetts. It will reconsider current police reform efforts at the state and local level, and grassroots organizing on police issues.
The forum will be moderated by Patricia Sanchez-Connally, PhD, associate professor at Framingham State University.
Panelists include Rahsaan Hall, director of the Racial Justice Program for ACLU Massachusetts; Selvin Chambers of #JusticeForEurie; Brock Satter of Mass. Action Against Police Brutality; Zeynep Gonen PhD, assistant professor at Framingham State University; and Moriah Leigh Wilkins, social entrepreneur and the granddaughter of Eurie Stamps Sr.
The discussion will be held through Zoom, and is open to the public.
This event is organized by #JusticeForEurie and co-sponsored by ACLU Massachusetts and Mass. Action Against Police Brutality.
